Sam Atkins, Senior Qualitative Research Analyst
Sam Atkins specializes in both qualitative and quantitative
research assignments at Critical Insights.
He conducts focus groups and other qualitative research efforts,
such as in-depth interviews. He has completed advanced training at the
Washington D.C. RIVA Institute for advanced focus group skill development.
As co-chair of Critical Insights' division of youth marketing
research, BackTalk, he combines a precise knowledge of the youth and young adult
mindset with tactical expertise regarding youth decisions in the marketplace and
within social marketing contexts. On quantitative assignments, his areas of
focus include data analysis, graphic interpretation and presentation of data,
and specific data gathering methodologies aimed at disparate populations.
He joined Critical Insights in 2000 from Community Housing of
Maine (CHOM), a non-profit housing development company based in Portland, where
he was involved with both administration and policy development. Assisting the
Executive Director at CHOM, Mr. Atkins successfully secured several grants from
local, state and private institutions, providing housing resources and options
for a diverse group of Maine residents.
Mr. Atkins graduated cum laude from Colby College with Honors in
History.
